Consumo, Consumado, Consumido
Consumption, Consummated, Consumed
Consumo, Consumado, Consumido researches the image of the Mexican skull as a contemporary vanitas to reconsider modern-day consumption. A series of monotypes made from reused materials. Souto plays with the idea of the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico. Being a very present and robust cultural symbol for Mexican culture, he plays with the point of view of who may be watching to complete the understanding of what part of the consumer life cycle one can be standing in.
